An exciting opportunity with the British Government has arisen for somebody with aspirations in international diplomacy to advocate for Māori interests on the world stage.
The British Government is looking for a Pou Ārahi Māori – Māori Advisor to play a leading role in enhancing the British High Commission’s and UK engagement with Aotearoa and iwi Māori.
The successful applicant will directly contribute to the strengthening of the Aotearoa-UK relationship, enhancing co-operation on climate change and te taiao, while also ensuring the NZ/UK Free Trade Agreement meets the aspirations of Māori.
Te Taumata is excited by the potential this role has to influence real change from an indigenous perspective, in the realm of diplomatic, intercontinental relations.
Among the requirements for the position are excellent communication skills, high competence in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga, and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
