Te Taumata secures next trade hui at Parliament

We’re thrilled to announce our next trade hui will be sponsored and hosted by Foreign Affairs Minister Nanaia Mahuta at Parliament. 

This hui will be held on 11 October, 2022 and will focus on Ministry-to-Ministry collaboration towards effective implementation of the recently negotiated FTAs and future ones.

It follows our most recent regional trade hui, which was held in Waikato-Tainui last month.

Responding to a tono from Te Taumata, Minister Mahuta says our hui are critical to ensuring that Māori voices and perspectives on Aotearoa’s international trade policies are heard.

“Te Taumata has played an important role since its inception in advancing international trade outcomes for tangata whenua, including most recently through FTA negotiations with the United Kingdom and the European Union.

“I am pleased to confirm that I will sponsor and host Te Taumata’s next regional hui. I look forward to hosting and participating in this hui, and thank you again for the work that Te Taumata is doing to advance Māori trade interests.”

We will provide more information on this hui as our mahi progresses.
