Peter Rice (Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Whaoa) and Dr. Richard Meade will help us undertake this work; both have an in-depth knowledge of the trade complexities across the UK, Europe, and globally.

Peter Rice is the founder and owner of a small boutique firm – Clearpoint Advisors – a regulatory, financial services, and economics advisory firm in London. He has more than 20 years’ experience as a lawyer and banker with previous roles at Treasury of Westpac Banking Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation Finance.

Dr. Richard Meade is the Principal Economist at Cognitus Economic Insight, an Auckland- based economic consultancy and research firm. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at Auckland University of Technology, Vice President Auckland of the Law & Economics Association of New Zealand, and a peer reviewer for various academic economics journals, and for government agencies.

Peter and Richard will be supported in this work by Whaimutu Dewes (Ngāti Porou), Paul Morgan (Wakatū), and Jacqui Cane (Ngāi Tahu).

Te Taumata Chair, Chris Karamea Insley says Peter and Richard have a strong grasp on Māori business and trade and is excited about accelerating this important kaupapa for the benefit of Māori and all of Aotearoa.
