Te Taumata has decided to postpone the Waikato-Tainui trade hui in light of the current COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown.
The hui, which focuses on Sustainable Investment, Trade and Māori, was scheduled to go ahead on 15-16 September.
However, Te Taumata and our partners in Waikato-Tainui have agreed that in order to keep our whānau safe at this time, postponing the event is the best course of action.
This decision was not made lightly as we know how valuable these hui have been across the regions and the vital role of trade in the current economic climate.
This is not the first time we have had to postpone one of our trade hui because of COVID and we are confident that we will be able to bring this important kaupapa and kōrero to our community in the near future.
Given the current uncertainty of when Aotearoa will move to Alert Level 1, we have not set a new date for the hui.
